Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 November 2026.

Digital Stonecutter is operated from Norway by Maksym Kononenko and Olha Kononenko. This policy explains what personal data may be processed when you visit the site or contact its operators, why it is processed, and the choices available to you.

Who is responsible

Maksym Kononenko and Olha Kononenko operate the site and are responsible for the processing described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, contact them at [email protected].

What data is processed

  • Technical requests and security events. Cloudflare may process your IP address, requested URL, request time, user-agent, referrer, and network or security-event details when delivering and protecting the site.
  • Language and theme choices. If you manually choose a language or theme, that choice is saved in local storage on your device so the site can remember your selection. The value is not sent to the operators as a profile.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to report page views and page-performance metrics. Cloudflare says this service does not collect visitors’ personal data, track individuals across customer websites, or use cookies.
  • Email correspondence. If you email the operators, they process your address, message, attachments, and the information you include to read and respond to your request.

The site does not use Google Analytics, GA4, Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels, or advertising trackers. It does not set analytics or advertising cookies. Language and theme choices use local storage. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary cookies if required to deliver or protect its services; see Cloudflare’s cookie information. The site has no embedded widgets, accounts, forms, payment features, or newsletters. External services such as LinkedIn are ordinary links; opening them sends your browser to that service.

Purposes and legal bases

Cloudflare processes technical request data to deliver pages, keep the site available, prevent or investigate abuse, and diagnose technical problems. The operators rely on their legitimate interests in operating and securing the website, balanced against visitors’ rights and expectations. By manually selecting a language or theme, you ask the site to remember that preference in your browser. If you email the operators, the message is used to respond; requests to exercise privacy rights may also be processed to meet applicable legal obligations.

Service providers, locations, and transfers

Cloudflare provides the site’s DNS, static Pages hosting, CDN, R2 object storage, and Web Analytics. The R2 bucket has a Western Europe location hint, which Cloudflare describes as best-effort rather than a guarantee; the bucket is not restricted to the EU jurisdiction. Pages and CDN requests may be handled across Cloudflare’s network, including outside Norway or the EEA. Cloudflare’s role depends on the service and processing involved. Its published Data Processing Addendum describes processor terms and safeguards, including standard contractual clauses for restricted transfers where the DPA applies. The applicable Cloudflare agreement governs the services used for this site. See Cloudflare’s R2 data-location guidance and Cloudflare Web Analytics information.

How long information is kept

Cloudflare retains unsampled Web Analytics beacon data for seven days, then keeps an aggregated version for longer-term reporting. Cloudflare may also process or retain operational and security data under the settings and terms for its services. The static site has no application database, Workers, Functions, or separate request-log store, and the operators do not export request logs or set a separate fixed retention period for Cloudflare’s network records. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to respond, handle necessary follow-up, and meet legal obligations. Language and theme choices remain in local storage on your device until you change or clear them or remove the site’s browser data. See Cloudflare’s Web Analytics retention information.

Your choices and rights

You can clear saved language or theme choices through your browser’s site-data settings. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. Contact the operators at [email protected]. If you believe your data-protection rights have been infringed, you may complain to Norway’s Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet, after first raising the issue with the operators where appropriate.
